Welcome to Ceilidh Inverness. Failte!
Ceilidh means 'visit' in Gaelic. Traditionally a Ceilidh was a gathering in a house or a village hall where songs were sung, instruments played and stories were told. More recently a Ceilidh has become beter known as a dancing event. Ceilidh dancing differs from Scottish Country Dancing because it is more informal and the emphasis is on fun. This makes Ceilidh dancing suitable for people of all ages and abilities. An enthusiasm for taking part is all that is required!
Do you want to know how to do the most popular dances? If so then come along to our Adult Beginners Class.
